Heart

A single line of golden text encircles St Luke's Church in Longsight, Manchester. It catches the light of the sun and the speeding flashes of car headlights after dark.

The poem was written by Tess Lomas, who worked closely with people who use the building as a church, a community centre, an Art Project and a mental health centre; members of the congregation and non-church goers alike to find out what the building meant to them.

I worked with artist Paul Jelen on the realsition of the piece in titanium coated laser cut steel lettering, the type used on ships nameplates to withstand the weather and the sea.
