St Lukes Art Project - entering our 25th Year
St Lukes Art Project has secured funding for the next 3 years thanks to a voluntary and community sector grant from Manchester City Council. This means that next year the project has been continuously running for 25 years. I m going to think about how we celebrate this landmark date. My Recoverist Family
On Thursday at The Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester I was delighted to attend the preview of the film My Recoverist Family by Amanda Ravetz and Huw Whal. The film represented the project Reveal/Unseen which explored the connections between addiction, recovery and art. The project instigated an art making, recovery sharing group, culminating in workshops and a performance event earlier this year. Carl Peploe at The Whitworth Art Gallery
This photo, taken by Sandra Bougeurch shows Carl Peploe poem Wanker, which is in his book in the Outsider collection at The Whitworth. On Thursday, artist David Hoyle and curator Mark Prest read out the poem as part of the event for My Recoverist Family.
