First meeting of creative team for this project with TLCStLukes Art Project. I m helping coordinate this with Artist, Dr Rae Story and volunteer/writer Nige Wood who will be working with people who experience mental and emotional distress in Manchester to explore how sound affects their mental health - and how finding quiet space can counteract the adverse effects. The Infinitesimal Atom /Ardwick Built
Last night we opened Ardwick Built at the Pool Arts Studio. I opened up my studio space to show The Infinitesimal Atom - a small installation that uses images and text that raise questions about the way we manage homelessness. Resembling an alter, complete with candles "flowers" (actually plants gathered from the derelict site of the former direct access hostel) and a monumental image of a crumpled sleeping bag - taken near the same site on Downing Street, Ardwick.
